St. George Cathedral celebrates memories of all saints, some the prominent celebrations are as follows. Special prayers to the respective saints are conducted during these periods. People of various relegions and castes participate in these celebrations.


St. George Perunnal*- May 5, 6, 7 (Medam 24)
Ancient times it was known as 'Kozhipperunnal' because poultry (cocks and hen) was the main offering item for the celebration. On this occasion people will conduct procession to the nearbyt shrines. After that there will be a feast (treat) for more than 12,000 persons.
'Thamukku' Perunnal- Dec.1, 2, 3 (Vrushchikam 20)
This festival is on behalf of the remembrance of St: Eldo mar Bassalios Mapriano’s Malankara visit held in AD.1685. 'Thamukku' is the tastiest special food item prepared using sugar, rice and banana, familiar with Karingachira people. It is the ritual offering item for the celebration.
St. Gregorious Parumala Perunnal- Nov.1, 2
This celebration is to respect the recollections of Malankara’s sole declared saint Parumala Thirumeni.
'Dhukhrono Perunnal'- July 3
On behalf of St.Thomas Apostle's life sacrifice for the well being of the society.
HG Bassaleos Paulose II perunnal- Sept,1
It is to renew the memory of His Beatitude Mor Baselos Paulose II Bava, who led the Malankara Syrian Orthodox community through Knowledgeable simplicity and divine politeness,and left us on Seitember 1996.
'Sliba Perunnal'-Sept.14
Also known as 'Poothiry Perunnal', for the remembrance of Holy Cross discovery by Queen Heleny.
'Vangipoo Perunnal'- Aug.15
The celebration of St. Mary’s (mother of Jesus Christ) assumption to Heaven.
