St. George Cathedral Karingachira is in the Diocese of Cochin under H.G. Joseph Mar Gregorios Metropolitan selected by the Diocesan assembly and consecrated by H.H. The Patriarch of Antioch and All The East Presently there are three priests as Vicars appointed by the bishop to do Holy Service at the church and look after the spiritual well-being of the parishioners. The priests are under transfer system. Formerly the parishioners used to select suitable youngsters from themselves for priesthood and the bishop of the Diocese after proper test and training ordained them as life time parish priests of the cathedral with certain privileges and rights to be dutiful vicars of the cathedral. This system ceased to exist here in 1982 where the youngest remaining parish priest Rev. Fr.P.P. Joseph Nadapuzha Achan retired with the conduit of the bishop and the cathedral general body meeting. Rev.Fr. P.P.Joseph was blessed by the Patriarch awarding him Mar Elias medal for his services and contributions to the Malankara Syrians.H H the Patriarch of Antioch has decorated Fr. Joseph with Mar Elias Medal in 1982 for his organising capacity and again with Mar Aphram Medal in 1995 for his scholarly service. Many of his Predecessors namely Rev.Fr. Geevarghese (Karthedathachan), Rev.Fr.P.S.Scaria (Ichikkottil Achan), VRev.Fr..S.Paulose (kooliatachan) and others of the past century have created history in the parishand the community. There are six eminent priests ordained for the church from the Karingachira parish whose valuable services are appreciated by all.  They are 1) Rv.- Fr. Abraham Palathinkal, 2) Rev. Fr. Varghese Pulayath, 3) Rev. Fr. Shibu George Pulayath, 4) Rev. Fr. Sebu Paul Vendrappithl, 5) Rev. Fr. Prince Mookkanottil and 6) Rev. Fr. Zacharia Oneril.

The system of administration and management of cathedral is democratic and transparent. Unlike in the other churches the general body of this cathedral comprises responsible elected representatives of the parishioners who are divided in two 13 wards to elect by ballot system. a fixed number of general body members for a fixed term which is now 3 years. Every year the general body meeting of the elected representatives choose them themselves two Trustees (Kaikkars), other office bearers and a managing committee with one of the priests as president for one year. The general body meeting takes all the policy decision and it is supreme in all the temporal matters and administration of the church and its properties. Every year the general body meets twice regularly and also as and when needed. The managing committee through its nominated working committee and other committees render all the necessary help for the Trustees to smoothly run the cathedral affairs. This unique system of administration is praised by all.

As per fundamentals, theparishioners have mutually agreed registered documents for guidance. The agreement of 1085 M.E.1910 AD is prominent among them and is still in force with amendments made from time to time by the general body of the cathedral
